\r\nSi tratta di un edificio di grandi proporzioni, squadrato, elegante e funzionale, progettato da Vittorio Gregotti e da Giuseppe Samonà. La ricercata austerità è mitigata dai pannelli in ceramica policroma, firmati da Carla Accardi e da Pietro Consagra. I pannelli, di dimensioni medie 3x5 m, sono realizzati con mattonelle quadrate di 30 cm. All'interno del Municipio si trova la sala di riunione Agorà, sulla quale campeggia il mosaico di Gino Severini. Anche nel Municipio, dunque, l’idea dominante è quella di valorizzare l'arte, non fine alla mera contemplazione, ma come stimolo alla partecipazione alla vita collettiva. Di fronte al Municipio, nel mezzo dell’ampia piazza-giardino intitolata XV Gennaio 1968, svetta la Torre Civica dell'architetto milanese Mendini, accostata ai carri scenici di Arnaldo Pomodoro.
